It gives you peace of mind if you make all the preparations for the birth and maternity period, as well as the necessities for the baby, in time. That is why we have a handy list of supplies needed for your delivery and maternity period.

Layout for the baby

  • 6 rompers or shirts
  • 6 jerseys
  • 3 suits or pants with or without feet
  • 2 pairs of socks
  • 2 hats
  • 1 pack of disposable diapers for babies weighing 2-5 kilos or 20-25 cloth diapers, 3 pairs of overpants (small)
  • diaper pail
  • 12 hydrophilic diapers (these are used as a towel)
  • 6 hydrophilic washcloths
  • if desired, soap-free washing gel
  • 6 spit rags
  • cradle or bed with firm mattress 6-10 cm thick
  • 1 molton underlay
  • 2 bottom sheets and 2 top sheets
  • 2 wool or cotton blankets (no duvet and no fleece blanket)
  • 2 metal seamless hot water bottles with hot water bottle bag
  • 1 changing mat
  • 1 bath with stand or a bucket or a tummy tub
  • 1 comb and/or soft brush
  • 1 tube of baby ointment
  • 2 bath capes

Tip 1: Get everything you need before the 37th week of pregnancy because you can start giving birth from that moment on.

Tip 2: Have everything ready in the room where you will give birth. It may be useful for the midwife if there is a table or ironing board. She can put all the necessities there.

Hospital delivery supplies (emergency kit)
